Back to Play is a project transforming a 100 Sq m plot within a school in Qaa, a village proximate to the Syrian border, into a verdant micro-forest, offering a sanctuary and play space for 500 students amidst its flourishing biodiversity.
In a locale devoid of thriving ecosystems, our initiative, funded by SUGi and supported by the school’s water supply, aims to rejuvenate the environment by planting meticulously selected native species. A skilled botanist has led a comprehensive survey to determine the optimal species to be planted, ensuring the restored ecosystem is resilient, sustainable, and true to its local roots.
By engaging students and the community in the planting, nurturing, and ongoing stewardship of the forest, this project intertwines environmental restoration with education and play, forging a green space where learning and leisure coalesce with Nature.
