This transformative initiative seeks to introduce a thriving green canopy within the grounds of Masina Hospital.
At the heart of this project lies a dual-purpose mission: to contribute to a healthier planet by fostering a sustainable environment, and to create a serene, therapeutic atmosphere for hospital patients and staff - enhancing the healing environment within Masina Hospital.
This project is not only about planting trees; it is a holistic endeavor that underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and creating a health-focused, rejuvenating space for all who walk through our doors.

Re-planting: November 2024
In September 2024, Masina Healing Forest sustained damage at two of its four plantation sites due to vandalism. A total of 493 plants - approximately 33% of the total - were destroyed, affecting 164.5 sq m of the 400 sq m area.
However, two of the planting sites remain unaffected, with 1,007 trees continuing to thrive and mature within the grounds of Masina Hospital.
To compensate for the loss of trees, and ensure a net positive environmental outcome, we have planted two additional forests with Arbor Day Foundation and FedEx. These forests were planted at two schools in the Aurangabad district - ‘ZPPS Mukpath’ and ‘ZPPS Anad’.
ZPPS Mukpath
Located near Ajanta Caves, this school sits in a rich agricultural region. The forest will enhance the ecological balance and provide a natural learning space for students while boosting biodiversity conservation.
ZPPS Anad
This school, near Ajanta Caves and surrounded by grasslands, will benefit from a forest that will create a learning space for biodiversity and improve local climate conditions.

As an extension of the forest, 500 saplings have been planted within the Marol MCGM Garden; a Biodiversity Park along the Mitthi River. The trees have been distributed across the forest undergrowth area, the butterfly garden area, the dense forest area, and the Konkani native fruit tree area; adding another layer of biodiversity to this site already teeming with life and colour.
The park provides a place for the local community, and visitors alike, to take a breath away from the city and reconnect with Nature.
An eco-STP has also been installed on-site, providing a service essential to both public and environmental health. The treated, mineral-rich sewage water is used to water the trees within its vicinity, so the environment is lush and thriving.

“A tree plantation project at Masina Hospital can have numerous benefits, both for the environment and the well-being of the hospital and its patients. Trees play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem and contribute to mitigating climate change.”
