Ethan Bryson
Ethan Bryson established ‘Natural Urban Forests’ in 2016 with the goal to rewild barren urban landscapes for the benefit of the surrounding community, wildlife and the environment.
An architect by training, Bryson has shifted his focus from creating buildings and structures to creating forests that harmonize with the natural environment. He is an expert in soil biology and Pacific Northwest native tree species.
It was while working with Shubhendu Sharma (Afforestt), that Bryson learned the Miyawaki method of forest planting. Bryson believes the best part about these native forests is the visible increase in wildlife activity from animals, bees, and butterflies, the seasonal flowers, and abundant natural food production.
Based in Seattle with his family, Bryson is bringing native forests back with projects around the Pacific Northwest, Eastern Washington state, and other parts of the United States.
